Sipi Falls, in the foothills of Mt Elgon, is a  beautiful waterfall in eastern Uganda. There are three falls separated by steep hillsides. The the last two are beautiful, with a depth of 95 meters drop that attracts the crowds at Sipi.

The view of the wide plains disappearing into the distance below is also spectacular. It’s well worth spending a night or two in this magnificent place, which also allows you time to enjoy some of the community  walks in the area, hiking, coffee experience and abseiling as well.
Hiking ( Don't forget your hiking boots)

The Sipi Falls area is the starting point for many hikes up Mt. Elgon. The most popular route starts in Budadiri and follows the Sasa trail to the summit.

There are a number of lodges and backpackers / campsites in the area offering a range of accommodation for all budgets. With a cooler climate compared to other places, Sipi Falls is a nice place to relax and chill for a get away from the hustle of the towns and cities. Being on the foothills of Mt. Elgon.

The Sipi River is named after the ‘Sep’, a plant indigenous to the banks of the River. Resembling a type of wild banana, Sep is a medicinal plant, the translucent green frond with a bolt of crimson rib is used for treating measles and fever.

The Sipi Falls area is famous for locally grown Bamasaba Arabica coffee. Bamasaba Arabica only grows at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,900 metres. Coffee tours are organized through our guides with knowledge of coffee farming, processing and roasting.

LAKE BUNYONYI THE LAND OF 29 ISLANDS

Lake Bunyonyi is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, and it is close to the border with Rwanda. The lake appeared from 2004 to 2009 on the 5,000 Ugandan shilling note under the title "Lake Bunyonyi and terraces". Scientific literature generally quote a maximum depth of 40 m, but some tourist guides and locals insist that it much deeper, about 900 m, which would make it the second-deepest lake in Africa. Towns on its shores include Kyevu and Muko, with its 29 islands.
